Safety First
The official way to check whether your exact appliance model has been recalled, and the steps to take if it has.

Appliance recalls are tracked by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Check your exact model at the CPSC's official SaferProducts database before your next use, especially for ranges, dryers, washers, and dishwashers with fire, shock, or leak hazards. If your unit is recalled, stop using it as the notice directs and follow the manufacturer's remedy, which is often a free repair or part.
Register the remedy with the manufacturer first, since recall repairs run on their program. If you are unsure whether a notice applies to your exact unit, call us with the model and serial and we will help you read it. Do not pay a third party for a repair the manufacturer owes you free; that warning exists because it happens.
Sparking, gas smells, scorching, or an appliance that will not shut off are service-now problems whether or not a recall exists. Start with our emergency page safety steps, then call (615) 583-1836.

Yes. It is the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's public database for recalls and product safety reports. Note that the CPSC site sometimes blocks automated visits; if it does not load, try again from a regular browser session or search 'CPSC recalls' and follow the government result.
Remedies are set by the recall notice and are typically free: a part, a repair visit, or occasionally a replacement or refund path. Registration with the manufacturer is the step owners most often miss.
Yes. Recalls attach to models, not ages, and some of the most serious involve long-sold units. Age is no reason to skip the check, especially on a secondhand or inherited appliance.
We can look up the model with you and explain a notice, but registration and remedy scheduling run through the manufacturer. We will point you to the right page and note it in your visit summary.
